The AP Calculus BC offers the student an opportunity to do college level work in his/her senior year. Included in the course of study will be A) Limits and Properties of Functions – elementary, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic. B) Differential Calculus – the derivative and its application; C) Integral Calculus – antiderivative and applications; techniques of integration, the definite integral and its application; D) Calculus of Parametric and Polar Curves; E) Sequences and Series. Throughout the course there would be an attempt to balance understanding, skills, and use of technology. Broad concepts and widely applicable methods will be emphasized. Students will be given opportunities to recognize and apply deductive and inductive reasoning and they will broaden their mathematical interest by reading and learning more not only about calculus but math in general, its application and its relationship with other subjects.
